Volunteer Waiver

VillageOS Volunteer Waiver, Release, and Agreement

In consideration of being permitted to volunteer with VillageOS in any capacity — including farm work, events, education, construction, outreach, and general support ("Volunteer Activities") — I, the undersigned Volunteer (and Parent/Guardian if under 18), acknowledge and agree to the terms below.

1. Voluntary, Unpaid Service. I understand and agree that my participation as a volunteer is entirely voluntary and unpaid. I am not an employee, agent, contractor, or partner of VillageOS, and I am not entitled to wages, benefits, workers' compensation, or any other form of compensation.

2. Assumption of Risk. I acknowledge that Volunteer Activities involve inherent risks including, but not limited to, physical exertion, lifting, exposure to tools, machinery, animals, weather, terrain, allergens, and the conduct of others. I voluntarily accept these risks.

3. Release of Liability. I voluntarily release, waive, and covenant not to sue VillageOS, its operators, owners, managers, directors, officers, employees, contractors, volunteers, landowners, and representatives ("Released Parties") from any and all liability arising from any loss, damage, illness, or injury sustained during Volunteer Activities, whether caused by negligence of the Released Parties or otherwise.

4. Code of Conduct. I agree to act respectfully, follow all instructions from Village Managers, refrain from discrimination, harassment, or unsafe behaviour, and comply with all site rules. I understand that breach of conduct may result in immediate removal.

5. Confidentiality. I agree to keep confidential any non-public information about VillageOS, its members, partners, or operations that I learn while volunteering.

6. Intellectual Property. Any content, work product, or improvements I create as part of my volunteer service for VillageOS belongs to VillageOS, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

7. Medical Treatment. I authorize VillageOS to seek and provide reasonable emergency medical care if needed and accept financial responsibility for any treatment received.

8. Termination. Either party may end the volunteer relationship at any time, for any reason, without notice.

9. Severability and Governing Law. This waiver is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. If any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in full force.

10. Acknowledgement. I have read this waiver in full, understand its terms — including that I am giving up substantial rights — and acknowledge I am signing it freely and voluntarily.
