General Liability Waiver

VillageOS General Liability Waiver, Release, and Assumption of Risk

In consideration of being permitted to participate in any way in activities, events, programs, training, volunteer work, or visits organized, sponsored, or hosted by VillageOS, including but not limited to farm work, gardening, equipment use, livestock handling, community events, workshops, and on-site visits ("Activities"), I, the undersigned Participant (and Parent/Guardian if Participant is under 18), acknowledge, agree, and represent that I understand the nature of these Activities and that I am qualified, in good health, and in proper physical and mental condition to participate.

1. Assumption of Risk. I understand and acknowledge that the Activities involve inherent risks, dangers, and hazards which may result in serious illness, injury, permanent disability, paralysis, or death, as well as damage to or loss of property. These risks include, but are not limited to: contact with tools, machinery, vehicles, animals, plants, allergens, biological agents, or chemicals; slips, trips and falls; exposure to weather, terrain, water, fire, and natural conditions; physical exertion; actions of other participants, volunteers, staff, or third parties; and negligence on the part of any party, including VillageOS.

2. Release of Liability. I hereby voluntarily release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue VillageOS, its operators, owners, managers, directors, officers, employees, contractors, volunteers, agents, affiliates, landowners, and representatives ("Released Parties") from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, illness, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me, or to any property belonging to me, while participating in the Activities, whether caused by the negligence of the Released Parties or otherwise.

3. Indemnification. I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from any loss, liability, damage, or costs, including court costs and legal fees, that they may incur due to my participation in the Activities, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

4. Rules and Conduct. I agree to follow all rules, policies, codes of conduct, and instructions provided by VillageOS, its Village Managers, and on-site staff. I understand that failure to follow rules or instructions may result in my removal from the Activities without refund and may void this waiver.

5. Medical Treatment. I authorize VillageOS and its representatives to seek and provide reasonable emergency medical care in the event of injury or illness during the Activities, and I agree to be financially responsible for any medical treatment received.

6. Media Release. Subject to my selection below, I grant VillageOS permission to use photographs, video, audio, or other media captured during the Activities for educational, promotional, and operational purposes, without further compensation.

7. Parent / Guardian Consent. If the Participant is under 18 years of age, the undersigned Parent/Guardian represents that they have legal authority to execute this waiver on behalf of the minor Participant and accepts all terms herein on the minor's behalf.

8. Severability and Governing Law. This waiver shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. If any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

9. Acknowledgement. I have read this waiver in full, understand its terms, understand that I am giving up substantial rights — including my right to sue — and acknowledge that I am signing it freely and voluntarily, without any inducement.
