Farm Participation Waiver

VillageOS Farm Participation Waiver, Release, and Assumption of Risk

In consideration of being permitted to participate in farm activities organized, sponsored, or hosted by VillageOS — including but not limited to planting, harvesting, soil work, irrigation, composting, livestock handling, fencing, building, and general farm operations ("Farm Activities") — I, the undersigned Participant (and Parent/Guardian if the Participant is under 18), acknowledge and agree to the terms below.

1. Assumption of Risk. Farm Activities involve inherent risks including, but not limited to: contact with hand and power tools, tractors, ATVs, and other machinery; exposure to livestock, wildlife, insects, allergens, plants, manure, and biological agents; slips, trips, falls, lifting injuries, and repetitive strain; exposure to sun, heat, cold, rain, lightning, smoke, and dust; uneven terrain, ponds, ditches, and farm structures.

2. Release of Liability. I voluntarily release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue VillageOS, its operators, owners, managers, directors, officers, employees, contractors, volunteers, landowners, and representatives ("Released Parties") from any and all liability arising from any loss, damage, illness, or injury sustained during Farm Activities, whether caused by negligence of the Released Parties or otherwise.

3. Indemnification. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any loss, liability, damage, or costs, including legal fees, incurred due to my participation in Farm Activities.

4. Safety Rules and Conduct. I agree to follow all safety rules, signage, PPE requirements, and instructions provided by Village Managers and on-site staff. I will not operate equipment I have not been trained on. I understand that failure to follow rules may result in removal from Farm Activities and may void this waiver.

5. Physical Condition. I represent that I am in good health and physical condition to safely perform farm work, and I will disclose any medical condition or limitation that may affect my safety to a Village Manager.

6. Medical Treatment. I authorize VillageOS to seek and provide reasonable emergency medical care in the event of injury or illness during Farm Activities, and I accept financial responsibility for any treatment received.

7. Personal Property. I understand that VillageOS is not responsible for loss of or damage to personal property brought to any farm site.

8. Severability and Governing Law. This waiver is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. If any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in full force.

9. Acknowledgement. I have read this waiver in full, understand its terms — including that I am giving up substantial rights — and acknowledge I am signing it freely and voluntarily.
